School Construction and Maintenance Projects
Provost Construction Details
Several major renovations to Provost were completed in 2007: five new permanent classrooms are now occupied in the north wing of the building, replacing the portable classrooms behind the school that sprang up years ago when student growth outpaced the original building capacity. Three of these classrooms open into the north hallway, and the other two are adjacent to the kindergarten area. Also, to the north of the kindergarten classrooms is a new restroom facility. These new areas are easily accessible to the playgrounds north and east of the building.
Two other important renovations include a new conference room next to the office area on the west face of the school, and new exterior windows and doors for the older classrooms situated on the north side of the building. These will provide improved energy efficiency, along with a more aesthetically appealing look. Complementing the construction improvements are several dramatic murals that are portrayed on the interior walls of the main north hallway.
