Timpanogos Construction Details

Work on the new Timpanogos Elementary school, located at 500 North 500 West, is right on schedule for occupancy on October 1, 2008. At that time, office staff will be available to answer phone calls and schedule public tours. Actual moving into the building from Oakridge will take place during Fall Break (October 16-17) with classes beginning on Monday, October 20th. Like Lakeview Elementary, Timpanogos represents a wise and appropriate use of public funds by the district, following well-designed strategies for planning and construction. The cost of building Timpanogos makes it one of the least expensive (per square foot) elementary school construction projects in the state of Utah.

Unrivaled Educational Technology Capabilities

Together with the new Lakeview Elementary, Timpanogos will feature some of the most advanced instructional learning technologies available and will be the premier technology-capable school in the state! Interactive whiteboards (rather than outdated chalkboards or marker-based whiteboards) will be installed and utilized in every K-6 classroom, facilitating consistent teacher-student interaction and enhanced student participation. All K-6 classrooms will be equipped with classroom amplification systems, which greatly promote consistent hearing and understanding of the teacher’s verbal instructions. More details on these powerful technologies and their benefits can be obtained at www.audioenhancement.com and at www.prometheanworld.com/us/.

Like all other schools in Provo School District, Timpanogos will be equipped with IP telephony or VOIP, for the latest in telephone service technology. Dedicated computers in every classroom, projectors with television capability and three mobile labs with laptop computers, will be available to enable teachers to maximize the integration of technology in the learning curriculum. Advanced network and server systems, wireless access points in each classroom, and the latest cabling and conduit systems are also part of the school’s technology package, and will provide integration with the district’s state-of-the-art Local Area Network.

This magnificent three-story building is striking in appearance, with excellent functionality and space utilization. The new Timpanogos School will be a source of pride to the surrounding neighborhood and something the entire city of Provo can look to as a statement of our commitment to the future of our children.
